What next?

Step 1

Create a Piclo Flex account and complete the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) application. If you haven't already, you’ll need to upload your asset data onto the Piclo Flex platform

Step 2

Submit your application. Complete the asset upload and confirm entry on Piclo Flex platform by 15 November 2023.

We’ll be in touch to let you know if you’ve been pre-qualified by 04 December 2023. Those that successfully pass the pre-qualification stage can proceed to the Competition stage.

Demand Reduction – Secure, Sustain and Dynamic Services

What are the metering requirements?

Each solution should have metering with half-hourly resolution or higher. Metering should meet the accuracy requirements of the relevant Code of Practice at the time of installation (https://www.elexon.co.uk/bsc-and-codes/bsc-related-documents/codes-of-practice/).

What will the baseline be?

There are a number of baselines established for different DER types for different services. The current baseline options are below.Intermittent generation (Demand turn-up/Generation turn-down sites only):

  • Secure/Dynamic: Last Observation
  • Sustain: N/A

Schedulable generation, Storage, DSR (all except domestic EV CPs):

  • Secure/Dynamic: Recent History
  • Sustain: Historic peak

Domestic EV CPs:

  • Secure/Dynamic: Recent History
  • Sustain: Home EV or Historic peak

Energy efficiency (and other enduring solutions):

  • Secure/Dynamic: N/A
  • Sustain: Historic peak

UK Power Networks may consider an alternative baseline to the baseline methodologies. More information is described in the Participation Guidance.

‍What revenues can I earn from participating?

The utilisation fee varies depending on the zone. Please refer to the revenue range spreadsheet which sets out the maximum utilisation fee by zone.
